In the middle of Obereggen, at the border of the mountain Latemar there is the typical chalet Ganischgeralm, located at 2050m above sea level.
In winter you reach the Ganischgeralm with the skiers starting in Obereggen, Pampeago or Predazzo. Starting from Obereggen you can reach the Ganischgeralm also in winter by a nice walk of approximately an hour. From Pampeago you just need to take the chairlift to the Ganischgeralm.
In summer many hiking trails lead to the Ganischgeralm from Obereggen, Pampeago or Predazzo. It is a well known destination also for Mountain bikers.
You reach the Ganischgeralm with the car as follows:
From Bolzano to Obereggen
- Take the exit A22 Bolzano Nord
- Drive approx. 500 m in the direction of Bolzano (Bozen) along the Brenner road (SS 12)
- Take the exit at the roundabout direction Val d’Ega
- Continue on the street of Val d’Ega until Ponte Nova (turn right)
- Go straight until Rauth where you turn left.
- After a few kilometers you reach the valley station from Obereggen
- From there you continue by walking or skiing.
From Ora/Egna to Pampeago
- Take the exit A22 Egna/Ora
- Drive from Egna through the Val di Fiemme until Tesero
- At Tesero you turn left and go through Stava
- At the next intersection you turn right
- After a few kilometers you reach the valley station from Pampeago
- From there you continue by walking or skiing.
